沆瀣（上航朗反下諧界反楚辭云湌六氣而飲沆瀣王逸注云夏食沆瀣沆瀣北方夜半子氣也廣雅云常氣也古今正字亦云湌六氣飲沆瀣二字皆從水亢韰亦聲說音同上說文韰從韭叡省聲叡音槩）。

hangxie 沆瀣 (The first character has the fanqie hang + lang [h-]. The second character has the fanqie xie + jie [x-]. The Chuci says: "Eating the six qi and drinking hangxie." Wang Yi's commentary says: "In summer one consumes hangxie. Hangxie is the northern midnight zi qi." The Guangya says: "It is constant qi." The Gujin zhengzi also says: "Eating the six qi and drinking hangxie." Both characters take the water radical; 亢 and 韰 are also phonetic. The pronunciation is as above. The Shuowen says that 韰 takes 韭 and the abbreviated phonetic 叡. 叡 is pronounced gai [g-]).
