啁噍 ('Twittering'; the first character has the fanqie 陟 + 交 [zhāo], the second has the sound 焦 [jiāo]. Gu Yewang says: 'The chirping of small birds.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Xiāo (clamour); composed with "mouth" (口) as semantic element and 周 as phonetic element.' 噍 is composed with "mouth" (口) as semantic element and 焦 as phonetic element. 嘐 has the fanqie 火 + 交 [xiāo].)
