Covetous and greedy (婪: fanqie 臘耽 [lán]. The Kaosheng states: "Greedy and rapacious; not scrupulous or pure." The Shuowen jiezi records Du Lin saying: "The diviners' conspirators colluding to fabricate fraudulent tokens is called lán; composed of 女 ('woman') with 林 phonetic." Also written as 惏 and 𢛓).
