哀陴（婢彌反左傳云守陴者皆哭杜云城上埤堄也說文城上垣陴倪也從阝卑聲𰪡文作陴集本從金作錍非也埤音陛堄音霓傒反亦作𨺙音同也）。

Mourning on the battlements (陴: fanqie 婢彌 [pí]. The Zuozhuan says: "Those who guarded the battlements all wept." Du says: "The crenels atop the city wall." The Shuowen jiezi states: "The low wall atop a city rampart, a parapet; composed of 阝 with 卑 phonetic." In large seal script it is written as 陴. Collected editions have it under 金 as 錍, which is incorrect. 埤 is pronounced 陛 [bì]; 堄 is pronounced in the fanqie 霓傒 [nì]; also written as 𨺙 with the same pronunciation).
