蕛稗（上弟泥反郭云[竺-二+稊]似稗布也而生穢草也說文從草稊聲下排懈反杜注左傳云草之似穀者也古今正字義同也從禾卑聲也）。

蕛稗 [tares and weeds] (The upper character is pronounced with the fanqie dì + ní. Guo says: "Tí resembles barnyard grass, spreading out as a noxious weed." The Shuowen says: "It takes the grass radical and tí as phonetic." The lower character is pronounced with the fanqie pái + xiè. Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: "A weed that resembles grain." The Gujin zhengzi gives the same meaning: "It takes the grain radical and bēi as phonetic.")
