凶愎（憑逼反杜注左傳云愎戾也佷也不仁也古今正字從心复聲复音復）。

凶愎: The fanqie phonetic notation is ping (憑) + bi (逼). Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan states: '愎 means perverse and obstinate; contentious; unbenevolent.' The Gujin zhengzi states: 'Analyzed as following the semantic component "heart" (心) and the phonetic component fu (复); 复 is pronounced fu (復).'
