愀然（椒小反鄭注禮記云愀謂變動貌也文字典說云愀然不快也從心秋聲也）。

"Solemnly and anxiously" (愀然): [愀 is pronounced with the fanqie] jiao + xiao (qiao). Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary on the Book of Rites says: 'Qiao describes a change of countenance.' The Wenzidian shuo says: 'Qiaoran describes being unhappy; it has the mind radical (心) and qiu (秋) phonetic.'
