Minced and sliced meat (First syllable 攣免 fanqie [luǎn]; Gu Yewang says: 'Meaning to cut meat into small slices.' The Shuowen says: 'Zhi (胾) is also luan (臠).' Analyzed as from 肉 [flesh] with 䜌 phonetic; 䜌 is pronounced 戀員 fanqie, and 胾 is pronounced 側記 fanqie. Second syllable 骨外 fanqie [kuài]; the Shuowen says: 'Finely sliced meat.' Analyzed as from 肉 [flesh] with 會 phonetic).
