鶂響（倪擊反杜注左傳云鶂水鳥也孟子云惡用是鶂者為哉也劉熈注云鶂謂鵝鳴聲也或作鷁𪁌鷊下香仰反或從言作響又作[鄉/曲]正從音作響集從向作嚮非也）。

Cry of the water-bird (yìxiǎng: the first is fanqie 倪 + 擊 [ní + jī]. Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan states: "The yì is a water-bird." Mencius states: "Why make use of this yì?" Liu Xi's commentary says: "Yì refers to the sound of geese crying." It is also written as 鷁, 𪁌, or 鷊. The second is fanqie 香 + 仰 [xiāng + yǎng]; it is also written with the radical 言 as 響, or as [鄉/曲]; the standard form takes the radical 音 as 響. The collection's writing with 向 as 嚮 is incorrect).
