The Liji says: "The Son of Heaven held the eight Great Zha sacrifices; Lord Yiqi was the first to institute the Zha. In the twelfth month of the year, all things were gathered together and summoned to be banqueted." The Gujin zhengzi says: "'The eight Zha' means to seek out and summon. Analyzed: from radical 示 'altar', with 昔 phonetic." In the collection it is written as 蜡, which is also interchangeable).
