刖刵 (Cutting off feet and ears: the second is *èr* [fanqie: 如志]. Kong [Anguo's] commentary on the *Book of Documents* states: "*Èr* means cutting off the ears." The *Wenzi dianshuo* notes it is classified under 'knife' (刀) with 耳 as phonetic).
