淜泳（上皮冰反爾雅憑河徒沙也說文謂无舟檝渡河也亦為憑字下榮命反郭注爾雅云泳謂潛水底行也說文水永聲）。

Wading and diving (淜泳: the upper character has [fanqie] 皮冰. The Erya says: "To cross a river on foot across the sands." The Shuowen jiezi says: "It means crossing a river without a boat or oars; also written as 憑." The lower character has [fanqie] 榮命. Guo [Pu]'s Commentary on the Erya says: "泳 means swimming beneath the water along the bottom." The Shuowen jiezi indicates it is semantic with water [水] and phonogram yong (永)).
