宸扆（上慎人反考聲字也紫微宮曰紫宸天帝所居處也說文從宀辰聲下依豈反爾雅云戶牖之間謂之扆郭注云牎東戶西也說文從戶衣聲牖音由柳反也）。

Imperial throne-screen 宸扆 (the first character is pronounced [慎 + 人] *chén*. The Kaosheng states: "The Purple Micro Palace is called the Purple Emperor's Palace [*zichen*], the dwelling place of the Heavenly Sovereign." The Shuowen says it takes 宀 [roof] as radical and 辰 as phonetic. The bottom character is pronounced [依 + 豈] *yǐ*. The Erya states: "The space between the door and the window is called the *yi* [screen]." Guo [Puo]'s commentary says: "East of the window and west of the door." The Shuowen says it takes 戶 [door] as radical and 衣 as phonetic. 牖 is pronounced [由 + 柳] *yǒu*).
