Sport and play (戲弄: the first character has the fanqie x- + [j]i [=xì]; the Shuowen says it is formed with 'halberd' [戈] and xi [䖒] as phonetic; xi [䖒] has the fanqie x- + [y]i [=xī]; in the sūtra it is written with 'empty' [虛], which is incorrect. The second character has the fanqie l- + [d]ong [=nòng]; the Shuowen says: 'To play with; to sport'; it is formed with 'two hands' [廾] and 'jade' [玉]; gong [廾] has the fanqie g- + [y]ong [=gǒng]).
