Shuowen jiezi states: 'Not discerning'; it takes the heart radical and hūn as phonetic; liào [in bùliào] is pronounced [l + d]iāo / liáo fanqie; lower character is [m + b]ì / mèi fanqie; Shuowen jiezi states: 'To lie down'; it takes an abbreviated 㝱 [dream] and wèi as phonetic).
