Cracks and crevices (孔隙: the second character has the fanqie [kʰ]iɛŋ + [ŋ]iək. Gu Yewang says: "隙 is like a bored hole." The Guangya says: "A crack." The Shiji says: "Like a white colt passing through a crevice." The Shuowen jiezi says: "A hole in a wall. Categorized under 𨸏 and 𡭽, with 𡭽 also phonetic." 𡭽 has the same sound as above, composed of two 小 and 白. The sūtra writes it under 巢 as 隟, which is incorrect).
