Jest and banter (戲謔: the upper character has the fanqie [xī yì] (xi-yi / xì); the Shuowen says it is classified under 戈 with 䖒 as phonetic; the lower has the fanqie [xiāng nüè] (xiang-nue / xuè); the Erya says xuè also means jest; the Commentary on the Shijing says joy and delight; both are phono-semantic characters).
