Calamity and portents (灾櫱: the second character is fanqie 言 + 烈. The Kaosheng says: "Omens and disasters; when insects and beasts become strange phenomena, it is called nie [糵]; when garments, grasses, and trees become strange phenomena, it is called nie [𪥲]. Nowadays it is sometimes written with the 'woman' radical as 㜸, or with the 'insect' radical as 𧕏. In the text of the treatise it is written with 'rice' as 糵, which is not the proper sense here).
