摶食 (The first character has the fanqie pronunciation 徒 + 鸞 [tuán]. Du [Yu's] commentary on the Zuozhuan says that 摶 means 'to shape with the hands'. The Kaosheng says that 摶 means 'to make adhere together'. The Wenzidian shuo says it means 'round'; it has the radical 手 with 專 as phonetic. In the treatise text it is written with 端 abbreviated as 揣, which is the character for estimating [chuǎi], not having the meaning of shaping by hand; 揣 has the fanqie pronunciation 初 + 委).
