Sign and mark (印𢡠: [印 is] *yu* and *lin* *fanqie* [= *yin*]; the *Sancang* says: "*Yin* means trust; it means checking;" the character is composed of *zhua* (claw) and *jie* (seal); the second character is pronounced like 節; it is also written as [惚-勿+土], the same, *chang* and *zhi* *fanqie* [= *zhi*]; the *Tongsu wen* says: "A private record is a *zhi*;" old pronunciations all give it the same as *zhishi* (knowledge), with no separate sound).
