Apertures and crevices (竅隙; the first character is 輕 + 叫. Zheng [Xuan]'s commentary on the *Liji* states: "竅 means a hole." The *Shuowen jiezi* states: "An opening. Composed of 'cave' (穴) and 敫 as the phonetic"; 敫 is pronounced 叫. The second character is 卿 + 戟. Gu Yewang states: "隙 is like a space or fissure." The *Guangya* states: "A split." The *Shuowen jiezi* states: "A hole in the seam of a wall. Composed of 'mound' (𨸏) and 𡭽 as the phonetic").
