To raise and commend (標嘉; the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 必遙 [biāo]. The Zhanguo ce states: 'To raise the standard (標) very high.' The Guangya states: '標 means to commend.' The Wenzi dianshuo states that it takes 'wood' [木] as radical and 票 as phonetic; 票 has the same pronunciation as above).
