姻媾 (The first character is pronounced 因. Du's commentary to the Zuo zhuan says: '姻 is like relative.' The Erya says: 'The family of a son-in-law is 姻.' The Baihu tong says: 'A woman relies on [姻] her husband to be established, hence it is called 姻.' The second character has the fanqie 鈎 + 候. The Mao Commentary to the Classic of Poetry says: '媾 means deep affection.' Jia Kui's commentary to the Guoyu says: 'A second marriage is called 媾.' The Shuowen agrees. Both are formed with "woman" [女] as semantic, with 因 and 冓 respectively as phonetics.)
