淵微 (The first character has the fanqie 抉 + 玄. The Mao Commentary to the Classic of Poetry says: '淵 means deep.' The second is the orthodox character 微. It is now written with 彳 as [徹-育+(肆-聿)], with the fanqie 尾 + 非. The Guangya says: '微 means minute.' The Shuowen says: 'Subtle.' Zheng's commentary to the Liji says: 'Small.' This means that although the Duke of Zhou measured the sun with an earth gnomon, he still could not exhaust its profound subtleties. The genealogy now writes it as 漢滶, which completely loses the meaning and is not adopted.)
