Destroy and strip (剝, fanqie: 邦角): Zheng's annotation to the Mao Commentary on the Shijing says, '剝 means to peel or scrape.' The Picang says, '剝 means to strip off its skin.' The Shuowen jiezi says it is formed from 刀 with 彔 as phonetic. The treatise text writes it with 馬 as 駮; 駮 is the name of a horse, which is not the meaning here; 彔 has the sound 祿).
