The Xici of the Zhouyi says: 'Plumbing the depths and reaching the distant.' The Kaosheng says: 'Gōu means to seek, to take, to draw out.' The Zishu says: 'Shēn means deep, to fathom.' The current collected edition writes 拘[栥-欠+ㄆ], which contradicts the meaning; it is feared to be a scribal error.
