依怙（上於希反玉篇云倚也切韻云從也論語云依於仁也說文從二人相依倚會意字也下胡古反尒雅云怙恃也韓詩外傳云怙賴也毛詩云無父何怙從心古聲也）。

Yihu 依怙 (The upper character is the fanqie yu + xi; the Yupian states: 'To rely on.' The Qieyun states: 'To follow.' The Analects states: 'Rely on humaneness.' The Shuowen explains that it is a compound ideogram consisting of two persons leaning against each other. The lower character is the fanqie hu + gu; the Erya states: 'Hu means to depend on.' The Hanshi waizhuan states: 'Hu means to rely on.' The Mao Commentary on the Shijing states: 'Without a father, whom can one rely on?' It takes the heart radical with gu as phonetic.).
