蟊螣（上莫侯反下騰德反皆蝗蟲類也毛詩傳曰食根蟊食葉螣或作𧈩爾雅作𧎢說文曰官吏乞貣則生𧈩二字皆形聲字也）。

Root-eating and leaf-eating locusts (蟊螣: the first character has the fanqie 莫侯 [móu]. The second character has the fanqie 騰德 [tè]. They are all kinds of locusts. The Mao Commentary to the Book of Odes says: "Those that eat roots are 蟊; those that eat leaves are 螣." It is also written as 𧈩. The Erya writes it as 𧎢. The Shuowen says: "When officials extort and beg, then 𧈩 are born." Both characters are phono-semantic).
