蛗螽（上音負下音終說文作𧑸音同上許慎曰負螽蝗蟲類也在草中不食苗毛詩曰趯趯蛗螽爾雅作蛗螽皆形聲字趯音他曆反）。

Grasshoppers (蛗螽: the first character has the pronunciation 負 [fù]. The second character has the pronunciation 終 [zhōng]. The Shuowen writes it as 𧑸, with the same pronunciations as above. Xu Shen says: "The 負螽 is a kind of locust; it lives among the grass and does not eat grain seedlings." The Book of Odes says: "Leaping are the grasshoppers (蛗螽)." The Erya writes it as 蛗螽. Both are phono-semantic characters. Leaping (趯) has the fanqie 他曆 [tì]).
