徼妙（上古弔反考聲云邊外也韻詮云小道也道德經云常無欲以觀其妙常有欲以觀其儌御注云性失於欲迷乎道無欲觀妙本則見邊徼矣）。

徼妙 (The first character has the fanqie 古弔 [gǔ + diào]. The Kaosheng states: 'Outside the border.' The Yunquan states: 'A small path.' The Daodejing states: 'Ever without desire, one observes its subtleties; ever having desire, one observes its boundaries.' The imperial commentary states: 'When nature is lost to desires, one goes astray from the Way; without desire, one observes the subtle origin, and thus sees its peripheral boundaries.').
