縱櫂（上子用反說文云縱緩也一曰舍也從糸從聲下亦作棹音直教反說文船檝也方言云吳人謂棹為橈音饒所以進舟也從木濯省聲也）。

Zongzhao 縱櫂 (The first character has the fanqie phonetic spelling [z- + -òng > z-] zǐ yòng 反. The Shuowen jiezi says: "Zong 縱 means to slacken; another definition says to release." It takes the silk radical with 從 as the phonetic. The second character is also written as 棹, with the fanqie phonetic spelling [zh- + -ào > zh-] zhí jiào 反. The Shuowen jiezi says: "A boat oar." The Fangyan says: "People of Wu refer to an oar (zhao 棹) as an oar (rao 橈, pronounced ráo); it is that which propels a boat." It takes the wood radical with 濯 abbreviated as the phonetic).
