駟馬（上息利反爾雅云天駟房也郭注云龍為天馬故房四星謂之天駟說文云從馬四聲也下莫下反說文云馬字四點像足頭尾具王以乘之像形字也論語云齊景公有馬千駟注云四千疋也）。

Sima 駟馬 (The first character has the fanqie phonetic spelling [s- + -ì > s-] xī lì 反. The Erya says: "The Heavenly Team of Four (Tiansi 天駟) is Fang 房." Guo's commentary says: "The dragon is the heavenly horse, hence the four stars of Fang are called the Heavenly Team of Four." The Shuowen jiezi says: "It takes the horse radical with 四 as the phonetic." The second character has the fanqie phonetic spelling [m- + -ǎ > m-] mò xià 反. The Shuowen jiezi says: "In the character ma 馬, the four dots resemble the legs, while head and tail are complete, which a king mounts; it is a pictographic character." The Lunyu says: "Duke Jing of Qi possessed a thousand teams of four horses (si 駟)." The commentary says: "Four thousand head of horses").
