霹靂（上普擊反下郎擊反說文云霹靂折震戰也所擊輙破若攻戰也字書云迅雷也二字並從雨辟歷皆聲也）。

Thunderclap (霹靂: the first character is pronounced with the fanqie 普擊 [p- + -ek = pī]; the second with 郎擊 [l- + -ek = lì]. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Pili (霹靂) means shattering, shaking, and trembling; whatever it strikes breaks immediately, as if under assault in battle.' A dictionary says: 'Swift thunder.' Both characters take the rain radical [雨]; 辟 and 歷 are both phonetic).
