無辜（下古胡反爾雅云辜辟戾罪也郭注云皆刑罪也說文云從辛古聲或有從手作辜變體誤書也）。

Innocent (無辜: the second character is [pronounced with the fanqie] gu + hu; the Erya says: "Gu means punishment, deviation, and crime"; Guo's commentary says: "All refer to penal crimes"; the Shuowen says it is formed from bitter/penal [辛] with gu as phonetic; some have it written with hand [手] as 辜, which is an erroneous variant script).
