謗讟（上博傍反孔注論語云謗訕也杜注左傳云謗毀也說文從言旁聲下同目反杜注左傳云讟誹謗也廣雅云惡也郭注方言云謗誣怨痛曰讟說文云從言讀聲）。

Slander and vilification (謗讟: the first character is [pronounced with the fanqie] bo + bang; Kong's commentary to the Lunyu says that bang means "to revile"; Du's commentary to the Zuozhuan says that bang means "to slander"; the Shuowen says it is formed from words [言] with pang as phonetic; the second character has the sound du; Du's commentary to the Zuozhuan says that du means slander; the Guangya says it means "evil"; Guo's commentary on the Fangyan says: "Slander, false accusation, resentment, and bitterness are called du"; the Shuowen says it is formed from words [言] with du as phonetic).
