沙汰（上音所加反切韻沙亦汰也下音太考聲云濤汰洗也案沙汰即如沙中濤洗其金取精妙者也）。

沙汰 (The first character has the fanqie 所加 [suǒ + jiā]. The Qieyun states: '沙 [sand] also means to winnow/sift [汰].' The second character is pronounced 太 [tài]. The Kaosheng states: 'To wash and sift [濤汰].' Note that 沙汰 means like washing sand in waves to pan its gold, selecting what is fine and exquisite).
