檮昧（上音桃杜注左傳云檮杌也謂無所知貌也從木燾省聲也下昧字說文云爽且明也從日未聲也杌音五骨反）。

檮昧 (The first character is pronounced 桃 [táo]. Du [Yu's] commentary on the Zuozhuan states: '檮杌 [ignorant/stubborn], meaning an appearance of having no knowledge; derived from 木 [tree] with an abbreviated 燾 as phonetic.' The second character, 昧: the Shuowen jiezi states: 'Brightening at dawn; derived from 日 [sun] with 未 as phonetic.' 杌 has the fanqie 五骨 [wǔ + gǔ]).
