欄楯（上勒丹反下述尹反說文曰欄檻也王逸注楚辭云縱曰檻橫曰楯間子謂之櫺間字去聲）。

Balustrade / railings (欄楯) (The first [character] has the fanqie lè + dān [lán]. The second has the fanqie shù + yǐn [shǔn]. The Shuowen states: 'Lán means a railing (kǎn).' Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci states: 'Vertical posts are called kǎn; horizontal rails are called shǔn; the spaces between are called líng.' The character jiān (間) is in the departing tone).
