愆違（上去乾反又作𮘧𠍴𱞖三形皆同爾雅曰逸𮘧過也書云監於先王其永無愆孔注云過也下雨非反字林背也切韻違逆也拒也）。

Fault and transgression (愆違: the first character is in the falling tone with the fanqie 去乾 [qu + qian / qiān]; it is also written as 𮘧, 𠍴, or 𱞖, all three forms being identical. The Erya says: "'逸' and '𮘧' mean a transgression." The Shujing says: "Look to the former kings, that you may be forever free of error." Kong's commentary says: "'愆' means a fault." The second character has the fanqie 雨非 [yu + fei / wéi]. The Zilin says: "To turn against." The Qieyun says: "'違' means to oppose; to refuse.")
