紹繼（下古詣反爾雅曰紹胤嗣續係繼也說文從糸㡭會意字㡭古文絕字經文作繼或作継皆不成字也）。

Inherit and continue (紹繼: the second character has the fanqie 古 + 詣. The Erya says: "Shao, yin, si, xu, xi, and ji all mean to succeed." The Shuowen jiezi classifies it under the silk radical [糸] and 㡭 as an associative compound; 㡭 is the ancient character for jue (絕, sever). In the sūtra text it is written as 繼 or 継, neither of which forms a correct character).
