巡狩（上祥倫反切韻徧也察也下舒救反韻英云狩獵也尚書曰二月東巡狩至于岱宗柴孔傳云諸侯為天子守土故巡行之順春先東巡次夏秋冬例然巡狩四岳然後歸告太廟）。

巡狩 (Imperial tour of inspection: the upper character has the fanqie 祥倫; the Qieyun says it means everywhere, to inspect. The lower character has the fanqie 舒救; the Yunying says that 狩 means hunting; the Shangshu says: “In the second month he went east on an inspection tour, arriving at Mount Dai, where he made a burnt offering”; Kong’s commentary says: “The feudal lords guard the territory for the Son of Heaven, and therefore he tours and inspects it; in accordance with spring, he first toured the east, followed by summer, autumn, and winter according to the same pattern; having toured and inspected the Four Peaks, he then returned to announce it in the Great Ancestral Temple”).
