饑饉（上居疑反下巨靳反爾雅曰穀不熟為饑蔬不熟為饉郭注五穀不成也凡草菜可食者通名為蔬又云仍饑為荐郭注連歲不熟）。

饑饉 (Famine and scarcity: the upper character has the fanqie 居疑; the lower character has the fanqie 巨靳; the Erya says: “When cereal grains do not ripen, it is 饑; when vegetables do not ripen, it is 饉”; Guo’s commentary says: “The five grains fail to mature; in general, all edible herbs and greens are collectively termed vegetables [蔬]”; it also says: “Continued famine is called 荐”; Guo’s commentary says: “Failure of crops for successive years”).
