田獵（上徒年反正作畋白虎通云畋為田除害故曰畋獵如經文作田非案字書作畋古者肉食取禽獸曰畋下良涉反爾雅獵虎也郭注云凌獵暴虐也從犬巤聲也）。

田獵 (Hunting: the upper character has the fanqie 徒年; properly written 畋; the Baihu tong says that 畋 means eliminating vermin for the sake of the fields [田], hence it is called 畋獵; writing it as 田 as in the scripture text is incorrect; note: character dictionaries write it as 畋; in ancient times, obtaining birds and beasts for eating meat was called 畋. The lower character has the fanqie 良涉; the Erya says hunting tigers; Guo’s commentary says: “Harassing, hunting, and violently oppressing”; it is formed from 犬 with the phonetic 巤).
