戊達羅（上式句反亦梵語也舊云首陁訛略也此之一姓務於田業耕墾播植賦稅王臣多為民庶並是農夫寡於學問四姓之中最下也）。

Śūdra (戊達羅: the upper is shì + jù [shù]; also Sanskrit, formerly written as 首陁, which was corrupt and abbreviated. This single caste devotes itself to agriculture, plowing, tilling, sowing, and planting, paying taxes to kings and ministers. Most are commoners and all are farmers, with little learning; among the four castes, they are the lowest).
