幖幟（上必遙廣雅云幖幡也說文云幖亦幟從巾票聲下昌志反韻詮云幟旗也以表物也集訓云幟亦幡也從巾戠聲戠音織也）。

幖幟 (The first character has the fanqie *bi* + *yao* [biao]. The *Guangya* states: "*Biao* means a banner." The *Shuowen* states: "*Biao* also means a pennant (*zhi*); it takes the 'cloth' classifier and has *piao* as its phonetic." The second character has the fanqie *chang* + *zhi* [zhi]. The *Yunquan* states: "A *zhi* is a flag used to indicate or signify something." The *Jixun* states: "A *zhi* is also a banner; it takes the 'cloth' classifier and has *zhi* as its phonetic." *Zhi* 戠 has the sound of *zhi* 織.)
