䓗蒜（上倉紅反玉篇葷菜也尒雅云茖䓗細莖大葉下蘇貫反字書云葷菜也漢書云張騫使西域所得也本草云萩性熟除風殺虫久服損眼目也）。

䓗蒜 (The upper character has the fanqie 倉紅 [c- + -(h)wong = cōng]; the Yupian says: 'Pungent vegetable.' The Erya says: 'Ge-cōng has slender stems and large leaves.' The lower character has the fanqie 蘇貫 [s- + -(k)wan = suàn]; the character dictionaries say: 'Pungent vegetable.' The Hanshu says: 'It was obtained when Zhang Qian was sent as an envoy to the Western Regions.' The Bencao says: 'The cooked nature of garlic dispels wind and kills worms, but consuming it long-term harms the eyes').
