鈴鐸（上即丁反切韻似鍾而小也金鈴也下徒落反大鈴也左傳金鈴䥫舌振武也以木為舌振於文教也釋名云鐸度也謂號令限度也）。

鈴鐸 (The upper character has the fanqie 即丁 [j- + -(d)eng = líng]; the Qieyun says: 'Resembles a bell but is smaller; a metal handbell.' The lower character has the fanqie 徒落 [t- + -(l)ak = duó]; a large bell. The Zuo zhuan says: 'A metal bell with an iron clapper is shaken for military matters; with a wooden clapper it is shaken for civil instruction.' The Shiming says: '鐸 means 度 [dù, measure/standard], referring to the orders and regulations').
