麻[米*(虎-儿+旦)]（上莫霞反切韻紵麻也說文云𢃷网人治在屋下也故從广𢃷也經從林作麻俗用變體也𢃷音疋賣反下側加反切韻麻[米*(虎-儿+旦)]也又[米*(虎-儿+旦)]糝考聲滓也從米[虎-儿+旦]聲也）。

Hemp dregs (麻[米*(虎-儿+旦)]) (the first character is mo + xia fan [má]; Qieyun: "Ramie hemp." Shuowen says: "Hemp nets; made by people inside a house, hence formed with the yan [shelter] and pai radicals." The scripture writes 麻 with lin, a popular variant. Pai is pi + mai fan. The second character is ze + jia fan [zhǎ]; Qieyun: "Hemp dregs." Also dregs and residue. Kaosheng: "Dregs." Formed with the mi [rice] signific and zha phonetic).
