坼開（上恥革反考聲云坼亦開也字書裂也古今正字作捇從手赤聲亦作𣂔經文作搩非也若從石作磔音張革反亦開也）。

Splitting open (坼開: the upper character has the fanqie *chǐ* + *gé* [chè]; the *Kaosheng* says, "*Chè* also means to open." Character glossaries say, "To split." The *Gujin zhengzi* writes it as 捇, categorized under "hand" with *chì* phonetic; it is also written as 𣂔. In the sūtra text it is written as 搩, which is incorrect. If written under "stone" as 磔, it has the fanqie *zhāng* + *gé* [zhé], which also means to tear open).
