𢹂索（上戶珪反切韻提也又離也說文從手嶲聲也經文作携或作擕皆非本字下蘇各反方言繩之別名也）。

Holding a cord (𢹂索: the first [character] is *xi*, fanqie 戶珪. The Qieyun says: 'To carry; also, to separate.' The Shuowen jiezi says it is derived from the hand radical 手 with 嶲 as phonetic. In the sūtra text it is written as 携 or 擕, neither of which is the standard character. The second [character] is *suo*, fanqie 蘇各. The Fangyan says: 'Another name for rope').
